No matter your spiritual background, we hope you'll find AIV to be a place where you can belong. We look forward to seeing you around!
DiscipleshipIn discipleship, we get up close and personal. We challenge each other to grow and learn. Each week we dig into hard truths together. We read books or study the Bible together. As we commit to each other and walking together, we learn new things about ourselves and about God.

Family GroupsFamily groups are the life of AIV. We gather weekly to read passages from the Bible and really examine what the text really says and what the original author meant. We build community through playing, eating, and serving together. We extend invitation and hospitality to new friends together. Family groups are where all of AIV's values collide: community, culture, witness, Scripture, fun, family; the list goes on and on. Join the fam: be known, loved, and know and love other AAPI students at UVA!

GatheringsEvery week we gather as a whole chapter. Gatherings are where we get to see others outside our family group. We worship, celebrate, hear from a speaker, compete in crazy games against each other, and even meet with the other InterVarsity chapters at UVA. Gatherings are always fun and exciting!

"I have previously struggled a lot with social anxiety before AIV. I was stressed so much on even the smallest of actions when interacting with others and if something went wrong in my mind, that thought of appearing strange or awkward in that moment would consume me for the rest of the day. On my first day with AIV, I immediately felt welcomed and became easily accepted even though I barely knew anyone at the start. Through AIV I learned what true community really is and that each member has a purpose. God is now leading me to reach out to those who may have similar issues that I had and to show them that God loves them so much and sees them with so much worth."
